A Few Words
About NAHSE PITTSBURGH
NAHSE’S origin dates back to the 1930’s when a group of black health care executives formed the National Hospital Association (NHA), an affiliate of the National Medical Association (NMA). In 1936 the NHA was renamed the National Conference of Hospital Administration (NCHA). After several changes in leadership, the conference activities were limited to one informal meeting held in conjunction with the annual AHA meeting. In 1968, NAHSE was formed and Mr. Everett W. Fox was named the first president. Today, NAHSE has grown into a premier membership organization for black health care professionals.
NAHSE Pittsburgh is committed to meeting the needs of the local region through the development of and participation in programs, education workshops, and conferences that encourage growth and awareness for healthcare leaders and the communities we serve.
